Abstract
26DANCERS is a community-driven meme token on the Solana blockchain, launched via pump.fun, dedicated to celebrating one of the most obscure yet beloved artifacts of early 2000s consumer computing: the 26 motion-captured dancers that shipped with Windows XP Plus! and the Windows XP Media Center Edition Digital Media Plus Pack.
These characters — Amanda, Arkantos, Ben, Chanel, Cobey, Daniel, Evan and Michele, Exile, Hawk, Jade Dragon, Jarvis, Jen and Dave, Jerome, Josh, Kenny, Nikole and Marcelo, Q-Taro, Seth, Shermin, Taryn, Wade, Boo Who?, Kris, Scooby Doo, Scooby and Skele-Man, and Sho — danced on millions of PC desktops worldwide yet are barely remembered today. This token exists to change that.
Origin Story
Between 2001 and 2005, Microsoft shipped a series of optional add-on packs for Windows XP under the "Plus!" brand. Bundled inside these packs was a feature called Party Mode — a visualizer for Windows Media Player that placed 3D-rendered, motion-captured human characters directly onto your desktop, dancing to whatever music you were playing.
The dancers were performed by real people, motion-captured in a studio, and rendered at the bleeding edge of early-2000s real-time 3D graphics. Each had a unique personality, style, and name. They weren't NPCs — they were characters.
In 2004, the Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Digital Media Plus Pack expanded the roster to 26 total dancers across multiple DLC packs, including genre-specific styles: hip-hop, jazz, Latin, anime-inspired, fantasy, and more.
Today, the original files are preserved only by dedicated archivists, YouTube reuploaders, and a handful of forum threads. 26DANCERS brings them back — not as nostalgia bait, but as culture, permanently encoded on-chain.

Technical Details
